Happy Anniversary to us again!

This month officially marks 2 years since we opened for business and of course our original policy of providing a 100% safe and scrumptious dining experience for the growing number of people with gluten, wheat and lactose intolerances and fructose malabsorption remains unchanged. We thank all our patrons over the last 2 years and look forward to serving you all again (repeatedly!) throughout the coming year. To mark our second anniversary we will be offering all diners, between October 13th thru to the 18th , two samples of our unique Tompoi sauces.anniversary
Our super tasty ketchup and Woostar sauces were lovingly created by our chef to suit the needs of our special customers. There is nothing else like them available anywhere else in the world! They are only available from our restaurant S. Komatsu. And you can get your free samples just by coming along to dine at S. Komatsu during our 2nd anniversary celebration week.
Mark it on your calendar now!

All meals prepared at S. Komatsu are fresh and wholesome because they are completely devoid of problematic ingredients like preservatives, additives, gluten, lactose and excess fructose. So, think about what is NOT in your meal….

and enjoy with peace of mind!

For all you fans of Japanese Izakaya cuisine we have yummy news for you!

After repeated requests, we now proudly add three intrinsic Izakaya dishes- yakitori, gyoza and oden- to our Specials menu for a limited time.

YakitoriWith a choice of sweetly basted or salt-dipped succulent chicken pieces on a skewer, Yakitori is by far the most popular ‘pub grub’ in Japan and a big hit also with all non-Japanese who are lucky enough to get to try it.

The word ‘dumpling’ doesn’t do justice to the little gem that is gyoza. The savoury juice of the minced pork and cabbage that oozes out of the ravioli-like pouches that are both fried and steamed, then dipped in chili-soy sauce, make these a definite lip-licking favourite among the masses.Gyoza

And, as winter descends upon us, what could warm you better than a steamy bowl of oden, with its medley of root vegetables, egg, fish patties and fried bean curd all lovingly stewed in a chicken and bonito broth. (Brrr… I could do with some now!)Oden

So don’t let the cold weather keep you house-bound. Come out and let us serve you these cheery and warming Japanese favourites. And remember, think about what is NOT in your food at S. Komatsu…and enjoy with peace of mind!

Old Scotch Wine and Food Club

Recently we had the honour of hosting an evening for the Old Scotch Wine and Food Club. The turn-out of 30+ members filled our Japanese Banqueting Room to capacity and much lively banter. Our guests dined on 8 courses of authentic Japanese cuisine which had been carefully matched by our chef, Mac, to the selection of wines chosen by the wine master of the evening Murray Gerstman. We trust that an enjoyable time was held by all and we hope to have the pleasure of serving you again. We also extend a special thank you to Dianne Senior for recommending us and David George for organizing the event at S. Komatsu.

We are delighted to have the opportunity to host large group events like this because we know that in any large gathering these days there are bound to be people with food intolerances. We know that we can provide a broad range of scrumptious dishes that everyone can sit down and enjoy together, without the need to fret over food intolerances. So the next time you need to host a large gathering, give S. Komatsu a call. We make it easy for you and safe for your guests!

Diabetics, we haven’t forgotten you!
How about a tasty meal for 82.6 kcal!

diabetisset

Our aim is to give every Body the chance to enjoy dining out on great food, that’s why we go the extra mile to cater for people with food intolerances. Now we are happy to say that we can provide a special menu for diabetics too!

At S.Komatsu we recognize that diabetics are also NexGenEaters! And, like all of us, diabetics want to experience the fundamental pleasure of dining out on great food, but their choice is always so strictly limited…..
So our chef has worked his magic once again and put together a Diabetes Platter for anybody on a diabetic diet (or anyone who just wants a very, very low kcal meal!)
In fact we are proud to present two dishes; our Diabetic Platter and our Devil’s Tongue Noodles. Its still a limited choice but not only are they both appropriate for a diabetic diet (you could dine on both and still consume under 300 kcal!) but they are delicious too (otherwise they wouldn’t get our uncompromising stamp of approval!).
Our Diabetic Platter is a colourful array of chicken, lamb, tofu and vegetables and works out to be only 198.1 kcal! Devil’s Tongue is a plant from which can be made a low calorie jelly-noodle. To this we add spinach, red capsicum, chicken breast and stock to make a nourishing and warming noodle soup meal for a staggering 82,6 kcal! Wow! Even we were impressed! (See details below) And like everything we do, it is made fresh, without preservatives, additives, gluten, lactose and excess fructose so is super body-friendly too!
So if you, or your family or friends needs (or wants!) to enjoy dining out on an amazing low kilocalorie meal then come along to S. Komatsu. We look forward to serving every Body!
